Global Counselling operates the website globalcounselling.in (the “Platform”), a discovery and booking platform that connects patients with independently practicing psychiatrists. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our Platform.

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Scope of This Policy

Global Counselling is a technology platform that helps patients find and book appointments (online or in-clinic) with independently practicing, verified psychiatrists.

We are not a hospital, clinic, or healthcare provider. We do not ourselves provide medical, psychiatric, or counselling services. Each psychiatrist listed on the Platform is an independent professional (or operates through their own clinic) and is solely responsible for the clinical care, diagnosis, treatment, and medical records arising from any consultation.

This Policy covers information we collect through the Platform. It does not govern the privacy practices of individual psychiatrists or clinics, who maintain their own patient records and confidentiality obligations under applicable medical and professional standards.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide to Us

• Account information: Name, email address, username, password, and optional profile details.
• Booking information: Patient name, contact number, email, city, preferred consultation type (online/in-clinic), appointment date/time, and doctor selected.
• Health-related information: Information you voluntarily share during booking or communication with us (such as reason for consultation or symptoms), which we treat as sensitive personal data.
• Payment information: Payments are processed through PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways. We do not store your complete card, UPI, or net banking credentials.
• Communications: Messages submitted through our contact form, email, or phone, including category, subject, and message content.
• Doctor/Practitioner information: Qualifications, registration details, experience, and practice information submitted by psychiatrists applying for listing.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

• IP address, browser type, operating system, and device information.
• Pages visited, click patterns, referring URLs, and time spent using cookies and similar technologies.
• Approximate location (city level) to display relevant psychiatrists.

3.3 Information from Third Parties

• If you use Continue with Google, we receive your name and email address as permitted by your Google account.
• Payment providers share transaction status only (successful, failed, refunded), not your complete payment credentials.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

1. Create and manage your account.
2. Help you search, compare, and book appointments.
3. Process payments and refunds.
4. Share booking details with your selected psychiatrist or clinic.
5. Send confirmations, reminders, and service notifications.
6. Respond to enquiries.
7. Verify psychiatrist credentials.
8. Improve and secure the Platform.
9. Comply with legal obligations.
10. Send promotional communications with your consent.

We never sell your health information or use it for advertising purposes.

5. Legal Basis and Consent

Where applicable under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we process personal information based on:

• Performance of a contract.

• Legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention and security.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Booking and payment records may be retained as required by Indian law.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and secure hosting. While we take appropriate precautions, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Subject to applicable law, you may:
